Terms of Service

1. What EggMaster is

EggMaster is a free egg-boiling timer and calculator. It calculates boiling time based on the egg size, temperature, boiling method, and altitude you provide, runs entirely on your device, and does not require an account. Creating an account is optional and adds cross-device sync for your history and preferences.

2. Who can use it

The Service isn’t directed at children. If you’re below the age of consent for online services in your country, please only use the Service with a parent or guardian’s involvement, particularly for account creation.

3. Your account

If you create an account, you’re responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. Give us accurate information when you register. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t use the Service to do anything illegal, don’t try to disrupt or reverse-engineer it beyond what the law allows, and don’t attempt to abuse, overload, or gain unauthorized access to our systems.

5. Third-party services

The Service uses Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, and (for account holders) backend sync. These are described in our Privacy Policy. The Service shows no ads.

6. No purchases, for now

EggMaster currently has no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or ads. If that changes in the future, we’ll update these Terms and let you know before anything changes for you.

7. Food safety, please read this one

EggMaster calculates boiling times based on the inputs you give it (size, temperature, method, altitude) and general assumptions about how heat moves through an egg. It is a kitchen timer, not a food-safety or medical device, and it does not guarantee a specific result; actual outcomes vary with the egg’s real freshness, your stove, and your cookware. Softer-boiled eggs carry a higher (though still generally low) risk of foodborne illness; official food-safety authorities in most countries recommend fully cooked eggs for young children, pregnant people, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Decisions about how to boil and whether to eat your eggs, and any consequences of those decisions, are yours alone.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We don’t guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that sync/backend features will always be available.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Burak Hacıhan is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including anything related to the food safety matters described in Section 7. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Intellectual property

The EggMaster name, logo, and app content belong to Burak Hacıhan and may not be copied or used without permission, other than your personal, non-commercial use of the app itself.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We’ll update the date above, and for significant changes we’ll make that clear in the app or on this site.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live. This does not deprive you, as a consumer, of the protection afforded by provisions that cannot be derogated from by agreement under that law.
